My one and only ever win at The Hill, aka Music City Raceway in the Purple Bullet.

It was a hot humid night, so I look sweaty from sitting in the car all night and racing with the windows up!

Tennesspeed Day 2007.

Discussing mods.

Ran the maroon new edge GT (Kieths2kGT?), he had built rear, bolt-ons, slicks and was launching hard. My slip said he got me by a tenth in the 1/8, but at the end of the 1/4, I got back that tenth, plus another tenth for the win. He was wondering what my mods were. In his defense, I think he has a N2O tune and was off the bottle. But hey, I was on crappy Goodyear Gatorbacks.

Can't see who was running me here. Must have got smoked by a fast car or no one was in the other lane. Can't recall.

The 66 and the 77 F100 at Tennesspeed day with Brodie's GT500 next door.

Dont have any pics at the track but heres the BlueCoupes normal getup on Fridays before hittin up the track.  Would put the 10holes on Thursday night, drive to work then hit the track after.  Ran my best time ever the day I took those pics.  After that it slowed down and the motor let go (rod end fell off the "under 100k bottom end I picked up).

I don't have any drag strip pictures of my mustang, it wasn't impressive anyways.

But I've got plenty of the buick.

This is the first pass on the car.  Me nealing behind the car watching about to throw up.  I have a bit 12x24 print of this framed and hung in my office.

This was on the same weekend as the first picture.  I think it's a great picture.

Your driver was good. He already broke the beam and was pulling a wheel before his opponent in the other lane.

Awesome, Brodie! :w00t: :3gears:Anyplans to get a new 2015 GT or Shelby? :dunno:

Not at this time. That's not to say I'm not going to be checking them out, but I seriously doubt I will pull the trigger on anything anytime soon.

This 97GT of mine is getting a bit old for me now, so when I get in a better financial position, I will buy a new GT or maybe an upper tier car. I'll hopefully be able to turn the old GT in to a street/strip toy by then as well.

Had I bought the GT rather than the ST you better believe it would be back to the good ole days like with the BlueCoupe.  Love the ST for the every day ride but Im gonna give it a couple runs down at the Hill and see if its worth doin often or not.  Not sure I can get the FWD launch down or not.

So the ST is about to become a street and strip car? :dunno:

Not about to become, always has and will be whatever it needs to be to make me happy in the moment!  I actually went into the ST WITHOUT the idea everyone likes to have at first "this one will stay stock" LOL.  I went in knowing it would be a simple bolton, lowered and maybe have a set of wheels car.  If I wanted a boring DD Ida kept the Escort...which come to think of it had some adventures of its own but back on topic, if I can figure out a way to scratch the 1/8 mile itch with the ST, then Ill head out there every couple Fri nights when Kathleen's workin late sure!  I have a feeling itll be similar to the BlueCoupe in its early days.  Run low 9s while figuring it out and then break into the 8s and have a TON of fun doin so.  Gettin outta the 8s will take more money and time than I truely want to invest in the ST so if I get to enjoying it again Ill just save some cash for another Fox!  Anyone know of any light blue Coupes for sale?!?!?

Oh, and I and many others are constantly reminded that the ST "isnt a straight line car" and get laughed at often for tryin it out so they would get a kick outta hearin it called a street/strip ride for sure.  Hell with em tho, if I wanna run it Ill run it, if I wanna take it around some twisty roads, Ill do that too, if I wanna RALLY the danged thing, I will!!!  But not really, after this last round of paint work Ill be AVOIDING anything that can chip, dent or scratch the danged thing lol

Shoot, unless we go from a lame-o, sissyfied roll your gonna eat me alive.  Ill be happy to cut a mid 2 60ft LOL.  That was the ticket in the BlueCoupe, it would hook up half decent and walk off on everyone while they sat there spinnin their guts out.  Ill run ya tho for sure if we both meet up out there, would be fun!

Ehh, you might get me!

My best ever was a 2.04 60ft with a 8.7 1/8 and 13.56 1/4. I'm rusty and the trans is hard to shift fast now (trans is on its way out).

Yeah Im thinkin Ill need upgraded intercooler so I can handle a tune with a little more boost in order to run 8.7s especially cuttin cruddy 60s.  Then again you never know, she might have it in her with alot of seat time to figure out the launch!!!  Too bad some of these ST guys who like to drag arent closer, borrow some better tires and see if I cant hang with you!

It shouldn't be hard to hang with me, though. I'll bet I'll be in the 9's at the hill because I'm so rusty and the trans is trashed. The trans has actually been on the way out actually for YEARS due to a Lakewood bellhousing misalignment on the old motor I ran nitrous on. I've just left it in to see how long it would last and how much abuse it could take; it has far exceeded what I thought it would take and how long it would last. I just hope the thing doesn't explode on me one day before I get the balls to try and rebuild it myself.

If anyone here has tips on how to rebuild a Tremec 3550, let me know! :fear:

Shouldn't be that hard John.....no worse than a T5 or 3650. Just follow the diagram, take notes/ photos, and everything will be fine... Do they even make the 3550 still???

No. Right after I bought it, they upgraded to the Tremec TKO. Same trans, just some updated stuff to improve it.

The trans was used first by Ford in the 1995 5.8L 351 Cobra R.

Before Tremec updated it to a 5 speed, it was a Ford 4spd Top Loader.

That's about all I know about it other than they're tough as hell!
