Couple guys somewhat local were gonna have a Dyno day in Lebanon on the 7th but the guy cancelled sayin it was too cold.  That woulda been a good time to check out some baselines.  unless somethin like that pops up again I wont be dynoing it...its my DD and to tell the truth, Ill be happy with my butt dyno readings and 1/8 times if I ever get to runnin it.

Now just imagine had it been warm and we coulda gone windows down and hit the twisties.  THATS where this car shines.  You dont even have to be goin fast to have a blast around turns in this thing, it just minds its manners until you smack the throttle up to the next corner.  Fun little car for sure!  Kate Upton fun...maybe.  As close to Kate Upton fun as you or I will ever get...DEFINITELY LOL

Got a hand tuner from Cobb used last week, finally tossed a really simple canned tune in to see what it would do.  Power is way up due to dialing a little more boost in and driveability is pretty good too, little funky in 1st but nothin too bad.  Im gonna have Randy at FSWerks dial it in using some datalogs.  The stock computer shoots for a target torque output so no matter what mods you put on, itll shoot for the same target which pretty much nulls any gains you might have gotten.  The tuner will help with that and Randy is one of the best in the country outside of a protune on a dyno (which NOONE around can do for this setup it seems).  Works for me tho, Im not lookin to have insane power, just wanna get the most outta what I got and once you pay Randy, he is at your call for LIFE!  lol.

ANYways, loaded up the super lazy tune and went on a road trip to SC to check out one last wedding destination.  The car was already quick but now its even better especially on the highway.  Leave it in 6th, hit 21psi and pass with ease.  LOVE it.  I also say a huge jump in MPG along the trip.  Not sure if the tune is the cause or slightly warmer weather or even better gas but before the tune I was gettin 23-26mpg and on the trip I averaged 29 including driving around Charleston.  Im cool with that either way!  What Im NOT cool with...is road gators.

Flew up from under the pickup in front of me and I had only enough time to not hit it dead center.  Knocked the foglight into the bumper and otherwise just scuffed things up.  I was thinkin bout just callin Ford and seein how much the black fog surround was for the car and tryin to buff it out but the damned thing took the paint straight to the black plastic underneath.  I also wound up with 2 rock chips in the windshield on the same side so off to the insurance I go!

She got a black eye on the trip but performed wonderfully otherwise LOL

Next up, little cosmetic work from the body shop and hopefully some lowering springs if the weather and my schedule will cooperate.

Yup.  Its ok tho, got the estimate ($1800=new bumper, fog light, bezel and windshield) and since the truck in front of me kicked it up, it wont make my insurance go up!  Gonna have to ride around with the black eye till the end of Jan tho but thats ok, she can handle it!

Awesome on the tune and new extra-poWa!

Suuuuuucks on the stupid recap damage! Wish they would outlaw those dang things! I'm surprised they haven't been responsible for killing any motorcyclists since you can be behind a car and never know it's there until the car ahead of you car sucks it up and throws in the air in front of you!

Anyway, glad it wasn't any worse damage than it is.

any chance of talking the body shop into an upgraded bumper (if any are available)?

Yeah the tune isnt 100% what I want which is why I look forward to gettin Randy involved but the extra oomph up top is where it counts.  The factory tune runs outta steam in the upper RPMs where this new set up keeps goin and goin.  I used to never look at the tach, just feel it run outta steam and shift but now itll get into the limiter quick if you dont pay attention.  FSWerks will take my list of mods and some datalogs and tweak it a little closer to what I need and then Ill be good to go!

As for the upgraded bumper cover, there isnt one out at the moment but I dig the factory look ALOT so Im cool with it.  Thought about seein if they would let me keep the old one to hang in my garage lol.  I do plan on puttin a chin spoiler on it eventually which is subtle but looks really awesome on these cars.

True that!

If these anti-second amendment politicians in Washington D.C. wouldn't constantly attack our gun rights via threats of more regulations and bans, I wouldn't be investing so much in it right now.

Just trying to stay ahead of the game!:up:

i see another huge shortage of ammo comming our way with the closing of the lead smeltering place.

although that won't(shouldn't) affect ammo, i'm guessing most people don't know that.

Nah, the Escort was the comfy reliable DD with max MPGs.  LOVED it...got bored.  Ive DDed a Mustang all my life till I got the 77 F100 and even then it was only because I was putting a motor in the BlueCoupe. Once it was running the truck sat for snowy days or parts runs.  When the 2nd motor popped I drove the truck every day while building the 393 that was never to be.  13mpg isnt gonna cut it so off to find a cheap beater I went and succeeded!  Then I realized that money wasnt in my hobby's favor anymore and was bored every day driving the Escort so off it went along with the BlueCoupe (miss it terribly) and I found somethin fun.  The mods Im tossing at it will not hurt MPGs unless I keep my foot in it so Im happy!  Its a fun car thats for sure, but Im missin the Fox bad and am thinkin that when money gets better Im gonna have to find another to play with again.

Been a while cause I havnt been able to get a decent pic but the ST is back from Auto Art after smackin that road gator.  First bumper they painted up was WAY off.  Looked spot on in the paint booth, rolled it out and WOW was it wrong.  They took it back, put another cover in the booth and tried again after some consulting from a paint expert at Ford if I remember correct.  Much closer but still off.  I realize the plastic parts wont match 100% with the metal parts, even from the factory there is a slight difference but its not noticable...and the new bumper was def. noticeable.  Bummed but to the point of just sayin "it is what it is" I left them to give it one more shot to try and blend it all together.  When I finally got it back...

It was spot on perfect!  I have heaped my praises on Auto Art since and have thanked everyone over there that had anything to do with it from the receptionist to the manager and even the painter lol.  I will be going back for any work needed for sure...which Im sure they arent overly excited about (due to the color, not because of me LOL).

Love this car again...and thanks to a "spat" with a Veloster Turbo forum and its members who think their cars are untouchable...Im loving the hunt...I mean drive to work everyday LOLOL.  Gotta love slow cars picking on even slower ones!

Anyways, shot that pic with my new Droid Ultimate and was surprised at how nice it came out so I wanted to post it up.  Now I just need a free afternoon and some nice weather so Pate and I can get together and lower the sucker a tad!

Man, from what I can see in the picture, they nailed it on matching the paint this last try!

Congrats for sticking it out and not accepting the miss match the first couple tries!

Im back lovin it again thats for sure!  I highly highly HIGHLY recommend those guys, not just because they got it lookin so good in the end but also cause of how well the treated me in the process.  Im not used to customer service being so good and not having to be an *** to get what I want!

I know I'm out this weekend. I got to change the oil on 3 vehicles and replace the O2 sensor in the 03 Yoda.

That O2 went bad today. Cost me $180 to get one! Last time I bought an O2, they were like $80 for the Mustang. What happened to increase the prices that high?
