Well my sight unseen craigslist Ranger was delivered tonight.

fresh from the backwoods of Alabama.

it was dirt cheap with title, took a quick look at it tonight, o-boy

small block Chevy 350? With a th350 trans. Wired by 3 blind monkeys but some 1/2 way decent parts.

Drag Radials, Flowmasters, misc chrome and a giant tach with shift light shoved in the dash.

get it running and decide how rowdy to go with the spray.

last pic is concept(in my head anyway)

possible the worst HP chev head, crap heads + too big of a cam + excessive rpm = 0 compression.

it seems this engine has seen a substantial RPM event and bent a bunch of valves.

these heads were headed for the dumpster anyway

anybody have some good aftermarket alum. chevy heads for sale.

No compression....I see some rocker studs with a LOT more thread showing than "normal".   Many potential reasons, and one is that somebody stupid tightened them down 'till bottoming out.

Good eye!!!  Yeah, SBC normally shows 3-4 threads and some of those look like the nuts are bottomed out. Might just be hanging the valves open from shitty repair work.

They were all over tightened,

reset all the valves, magically compression came back,

now just replace the **** carburetor and battery.

engine popped over and ran not he gas that was poured down the carb.

fuel pump is working, just not the edelbrock carb

Current status of 2019 drag season,

i knew that something had gone horribly wrong.

would not stay running and would back fire and pop out of the exhaust

cam and lifters are trash
