new ride

6 posts in this topic

so after looking at $70k tahoes and then $55k explorers I found a used one that has everything we were after.

2014 explorer sport with the TT 3.5 ecoblahblah.  For a heavy suv it will move!

I spend 6 hours sat cleaning on it and was quickly reminded why I hate black cars.

washed it, clayed it, polished it with meguiar's #9, then waxed it with meguiar's #26

that polish is a light cut polish. I didn't want to go to deep until I knew the overall condition of the paint. in the end it wasn't enough and the swirls are still there.

there's also what I first thought to be bubbles but now I'm thinking it was just a bad repair job.

it's the wifes ride so I'll see very little seat time.

I've seen Ford paint get bubbly from oxidation of it's aluminum panel.
