Well here it is. Guy said it was a 42k mile take out from a 2012 CTSV.

Can anyone confirm off the numbers?

No idea how to ID it.  I’d like first dibs on the converter if you get rid of it.

You can have it. I don't need it.

Sucker is heavy!

Pretty sure it's beefier than the stock SS 6L80 converter!

I know nothing about them.

The only shops I hear about for 6L90’s are Circle D or Tim King in Ohio.

Never heard of Tim.

How good is he?

Does he include the trans tune?

Mike Tim King sounds like a steal!

His 1000 hp build is only $2700.00.

I think I’m going to send him my business.

I ordered the Tim King / TK Performance Stage 2 Cadillac CTSV 6L90E rated good to 1,000hp. :w00t:

So once I get the trans mount, cross member and cooler, I will be all set!

Its crazy to think you need a trans capable of 1000hp! That's nuts!!! I want a ride!

It didn’t at my current 760rwhp level, but I might turn it up a little later, so I only wanted to do this trans stuff once if I can help it.

Soon as it’s done, the DR’s go on and trans is retuned, we’ll take a spin!

I can tell you in D it was crazy, but in S it was insane!

How much for a ride? :3gears:

This thing is going to be insane. Now how long will the rearend hold?

The diff and axles.... I hear the ring gear teeth in the diff break and wheel hop kills axles.

I'm hoping it doesn't happen for a while. Ill try to be easy on launches because there are absolutely no cheap bulletproof upgrades and I'm already way over budget. :baller:

This GForce setup is $7k to $7,400 https://gforce1320.com/product/5th-gen-camaro-9-irs-kit/

A Strange diff by itself is $4k and then you need axles and a custom length driveshaft: https://gforce1320.com/product/5th-gen-camaro-g8-ss-vevf-s60-bolt-in-irs-housing/

Driveshaft is about $1k for aluminum and carbon fiber can be around $1,500.

Axels $1,600 - $2k

The ZL1 setup is $4525 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-22959395/overview/

The ZL1 diff would hold up. The axles I'm sure have limits. The DS is still a 2 piece and heavy steel. I'd rather have a 1 piece aluminum or CF if I was going to upgrade.

But the ZL1 kit is the least expensive option out there.

The Driveshaft Shop says my order is still 2 weeks out....

Trans... Tim King still hasn't sent me a tracking number, so I assume it's still being built.

Trans cross member, driveshaft safety loop, rear main sea, rear main seal cover gasket and valve cover gaskets are all here.

Trans mount is supposed to be here today.

Still trying to figure out which trans cooler will work best since I already have an air/air intercooler mounted up front, so I'm not sure where we could put a stacked plate auxiliary transmission cooler rated for 25,000 GVW.

@Mike Should I wait on ordering until we can measure to see what size trans cooler we can fit?

Take your time, get it all sorted correctly and you will still have it ready for BOOST weather runs when the tracks open!  The Hill being open Sundays lately has be itching to get out but go figure I have a class at Church every Sunday for the next 4 weeks that wont allow it.

Trans and Converter should be here today....

Looking at trans fluid coolers now....

I'm liking the Earls stuff.

I've got 6 inches from the top of the Stage II ProCharger Race intercooler to the bolts that hold it to the radiator support.

IMG_0484.JPG

If I want, I could mount just above the bracket bolts to the radiator support.

I think could do this one easily:

What do you guys think?

Is there an -an fitting that allows me to hook up to the existed trans lines?
