@gammey4

This is going to be too easy!

The setup is very easy. The graph on the other hand.....lol. I'll get you squared away with that.

Cool.

You know, I learn best hands on, so sometimes you tell me once and I don't get it all down. But once I do it myself, I'm good to go.

It's a lot easier to see something done and then do it yourself under guidance. At least I think anyway.

What do you LSx guys think of the specs on this cam?

Used to be by Lethal Performance, but they went out of business, so its now a BTR spec'd Night Fury Camshaft By Cam Motion

Cam specs are 233/242 .629"/.629" 113+3

https://www.briantooleyracing.com/lethal-racing-night-fury-camshaft.html

This one has DOD and VCT delete, so LS3 converted.

His build thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217815

That's a pretty healthy cam. Did you read his build thread and see the damage?

I did. He upgraded the weak factory valvetrain to fix the issues, though.

I'm torn between a mild VVT cam or just doing a complete delete to make it a LS3.

I want a smooth idle and off idle to redline power because wife and daily driving.

But the drag racer in me wants the big lumpy cam and faster ET. :wall:

Get something in between.  BTR sells milder cams that have great driveability, but still have some lope and very close to the power of a big cam.  For example, mine is in between a BTR 2 and 3.  Probably more than I or my wife would want to daily, but I could.  I think a BTR stage 2 would have been a perfect DD cam.

What about talking to Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction about putting together a custom cam to do exactly what you want with exactly what you have setup wise?

info@flowtechinduction.com

He will ask you to fill out a form to get the specs correct and with the wealth of knowledge floating around in this thread alone you could make that happen quick and easy.

Sucky thing is, and Im not bagging on you one bit, but with a manual you could have cam with a nasty lope and still DD but Autos are a different story without swapping converters.  Whatever you do, DONT put anything on the car that will keep you from driving it any and every time you want to.  Then whats the point of having it?

Shiiiiiiit No way i'd have that much cam without a looser converter.

What cam would you put in this slow land yacht with cnc ported heads like the GMPP heads?

On the basis of keeping the stock converter?

Let's just say for now.

I'm not totally opposed to a converter, but I wouldn't want a real high stall speed.

I still want to DD this thing with the wife.

I think I saw you sayin you wouldnt be free this evening...but new parts and the ability to do some real damage to getting that tune sorted out would be fun this evening!!!

NOt saying put a 5500 stall in it. But a 2800 would go a long ways to help. ON the MOTHER IN LAW's C1500 I just swapped, I went with a really small cam and slightly looser converter and it is so so nice.

If you're not going to do a converter, I wouldn't do a cam at all. Seriously.
