lol,  Yes, that should have been  C V T.

Yes, it's BLEH, but if it holds the engine at it's peak HP while the car accelerates, well, it can't be beat. Not even.....with a....clutch dump.  :eeek:

What’s your opinions on the 2012 ZL1 front bumper cover?

Like it better than the SS bumper or not?

Considering swapping one on since my stock one is slightly damaged and needs repair.

Not bad but it gets rid of the inlet in the top of the bumper cover which is one of the other things I like about the SS bumper.

Matt

Except it is a cosmetic thing.  I don’t believe the “mail slot” on the 5th Gen is functional.

Oh yeah I just think it looks kinda slick.

JohnC...get that trans sorted out and some good tires so you can make the most of the new found POOWAAAAAAH.  And lock in the Dyno day so we can all make sure were free...mostly me and Disney LOL

I like that front end.

I'm going to work on getting that ZL1 front next.

I like that heat extractor hood, but I don't want to lose the stripes... Hmmm...

Pads came this AM.

Went with a street pad so they wouldn’t chew up the rotors too fast. Hope they stop as good as the Brembo OEM stuff.

I'm at 116 mph in the 1/4 right now and that should climb a small bit. So yeah. They'll get beat on a little bit. :meh:

Only reason I went with this stuff is I was in a bind time wise to get this done before Saturday dyno and race day.

Had I known my brakes would be grinding at 36k miles, I'd already had the parts to upgrade to 6 piston CTSV Brembo's.

I think it's cheaper to buy the CTSV/ ZL1 stuff under AC Delco PN #'s than to buy the kit from GMPP.

I still got to do the math to be sure though.

GM wants $4150 for ZL1 6 piston fronts and $2500 for the rear 4 piston ($6650 total wtf?): http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/gen5camaro/brakes

Parts #'s here through AC Delco: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=348133

$6650 for brakes?  Are your factory brakes THAT bad?  You could put a blower on for that money and still not need those brakes...again unless your factory ones are that bad.

The local parts place route appears to be a winner!

No way I’m spending $7k on brakes, ever.

But buying through AC Delco on #’s I believe makes it affordable.

I still need to add up all the parts and see if it’s worth it for a project down the road.

I’m hard on brakes. If you look at my logs, tuning on my daily drives to work, you’d see what I mean.

Brembo just don’t like my sporty driving!

Weird it wore on one side. Going to keep an eye on that side...
