I bought a 3/8" impact a few years ago.  Haven't had any issues out of it, but haven't used it much either.  I would say it is on the level of a Campbell Hausfeld.

At work my tools are sorted and in place.   At home I WISH I had a socket casserole because it's nothing more than scattered ingredients of one.

Hopefully you can find other uses for it too. Maybe Pontiac Balancer bolts? I hear you have to remove them shorty after dropping engines on the ground.
