It hit everyone.  They are trying to basically extort $400 from everyone that has used photobucket in the past.  Of course everyone uses it for 3rd party hosting.  What  other purpose did photobucket have?  You can't print pictures from there and you can't get get funny merchandise with your pictures.  So it's only purpose is a place to post pictures and share them.

You can download everything like this.  http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us/articles/201892970-Downloading-Albums

I've been putting all my pictures here and link them to other forums.  I downloaded all my stuff from photobucket last week and closed my account.  It sucks for all my past build threads, but if someone needs a picture they'll ask.

$40/MONTH.... Forty Bucks... Every Month. They have lost their Friggin minds. Aint no friggin way in this day and age that people will pony up that kind of money for simple image hosting.

Its asinine.  They wont refund any money either BUT I paid for the middle package last week but have not had any changes happen still to this day so I requested a full refund.  I wont get it but I will be doing the same as everyone else in the world, pulling my pictures from the site and watch them sink into the depths of obscurity.  Good job idiots.  If they come out and say the $10 package, which I paid for, will work, then Ill keep going with them but $40 is lunacy!

Yeah, $10 I MIGHT consider. Maybe... If i've been drinking. But $40 will never happen. aint no way no how. @JohnC set this forum up so that it hosts the pictures without any linking easier than trying to use PB so that's how i've been doing it. And I pretty much only post here so no need to cross link.

For all the pics I have, $10 was the outter realm of acceptable for me.  I never knew that about this site, you guys know me...I post pics of EVERYTHING i can in build threads...mainly so I have something to look back on when Im bored or looking to see where Ive been lol.  If it wont hurt anything I may start doing the same!

$40 a month is crazy.

for my video hosting I pay $60 a year for 250gb. each year adds 250gb to the existing storage.

Yeah I post to multiple forums for multiple hobbies so I just put it all on Photobucket to be able to post from one central place.  It was all good till this recent BS.  I even went on a paid for the mid grade upgrade figuring that I have SO MANY pictures on there, might as well chip in and pay but then I noticed that only the damned $40/mo plan allows you to post them on other forums.  Now I have to figure out how to get them off of there and put them somewhere else and go about rebuilding my threads if I even can do so.

Matt

Rebuilding threads with pics suuuuucks!

But on here, with the wysiwyg type editor, you can just copy and paste.

An example is, I copied and pasted all this from HPT forum (click to see quote):

Sure does take the work out of it! :D

I know the photobucket ordeal put a damper on things with having to redo all your pictures, but a new engine is a bit of a drastic fix don't you think?

Is this really happening now or just got a deal and saving it for later?

HA I thought the same thing, since my thread is gone Im gonna take advantage and start new!

It is happening tho.  Im tired of my favorite car.  The fun is there, the motor has potential like Ive never had at my fingertips BUT the passion has left me.  I spend more time tweaking and tuning and adjusting and cussing all for it all to need to be done all over again and spend less time enjoying the car and just driving it.  I know one day I will get it but then what...it will sit.  Its been a long time coming but I finally talked myself into it.  Mike...your recent transition from GN to CTSV is what Im looking to do, but with the same car...and lots less go fast.  I have one simple goal and a not-so-simple but very doable plan to get there.  I want to be able to DD this car if I feel like it.  I want to be able to go anywhere, anytime and have anyone that wants to go be able to do so.  The plan (so far) is:

Exploder 5.0 with headers and a cam/spring swap.  Megasquirt (Disney's magic touch) or just stock A9 using a modded factory harness and thats about it.  Im not looking to make a ton of power, I just want to drive the car, enjoy it and it be reliable and simple.  I loved loved loved my Fox.  If I could get the 66 to run like my Fox, ide be happy.  Once its up and going reliably I will look into aluminum heads, maybe an S trim blower or something BUT I have a feeling mid to upper 200whp will be fine in this little car.  THEN I can finally move on to other things like safety, interior, paint and shortening up the rear end a bit.  Ive got the 5.0 and the headers (thanks Joey!) to keep me busy for a while, then itll be cam time and get with Disney on getting it wired up.  I will also address the fuel lines and pump when I have the inline out and sold.

Im going from unique/oddball combo to run of the mill but if that difference is the difference between it being in my garage all the time or out on the road...so be it!

I think you'll enjoy it.  Even just a cam swap in that motor will run really good in that car.

I bet you can sell the inline for enough to pay for the whole swap.

That car ran great before the turbo swap didn't it?  I think turbo's do this to cars.  Unless it's a factory turbo car with millions of R&D behind it, it's just hard to make it reliable.  Even stock GN's were trouble filled even when new.

Everybody wants a turbo car until they own a turbo car.

It ran fine before I put the bigger carb and cam in it.  I didnt know squat about tuning back then and just drove around it but that started me not liking driving it and drove me to buy other cars to take over DD status.  I LOOOOVED the power it made under boost, especially now and I havnt even cracked 5psi yet but its a headache everywhere else.  I will say that if it hadnt been for the turbo, I woulda swapped it years and years ago.  65whp just wasnt cutting it.  Tossing a 302 in and backing it up with solid EFI should do the trick!

Very cool man!! I cant wait to get to thr poibt if engine. A base 302 in my 67 was pretty awesome, i ran the stock 302 behibd it and 3.20 gears and it was a nice mix. Im going to go a little more extreme with this but keep us in the loop.

HA I know I know.  If I had a tad more room Ide jump on it but the 302 will do fine for what I wanna do plus it comes with decent heads and intake straight from the start!

I would like to grab a tilt column one day for the 66 but they are pricey and Ive finally got myself a little more room by lowering the seat pan and the seat frames.  Tilt column would allow me to spend even more money on the nice wood steering wheel Ive always wanted which is bigger than the one I have.  I also want to do EPS but may not have the room due to having big feet.  These are all projects that Ive pushed to the side to get the tuning sorted out on the inline.  Get this motor running nice and happy and I will move on to those other parts of the car than need attantion!

Bummer.:( I mean, YAY!

Good for you if you end up with a more driveable car.  My buddy and I were chatting about that yesterday.  Neither of us have a running car right now and we'd both love to have a reliable "hotrod" even if it wasn't anywhere near the fastest thing around or even the fastest thing we'd ever had.
