This is a continuation of the 5.3 LSx Turbo swap with 4l80 trans.

 

It is apart at the moment getting a microsquirt setup and bigger turbo

I get the pass side all cleared out to start getting the turbo in place next weekend or maybe this week depending on how things go..

well she hangs on her own. it will be a few days before my bends get here for the exhaust so i will start on wiring the micro and getting the intake on the truck in the next couple days

I'm curious as to why GM went back to the old square port (because the direct injection?) and calling the new engines LT1's. :shrug:

Are square port really better than the old LSx tall ports?

Is anything even related to the old LT1 in the new engine?

/end clueless Ford guy questions. :lol:

I think I read somewhere it is 95% new on everything. And gen 4 ls engine are square port like the ls3 and later ones similar. Ls1,ls2,ls6, etc are cathedral port. Not all ls engines have tall ports lol the only similar thing about this lt1 and the 2 previous ones is the name.

What I was kind of wondering is which port makes the most power out of all these GM port designs?
