For me, it all comes down to cost and performance gains.

Whichever is cheaper and faster, wins! Because I want a fast car! :lol:

Michael is my arch nemesis ever since we first raced the LT1 Vs. 5.0. And I beat him. That's the only time I won tho, ever since then it went down hill for me.

Wait! The 71 Camaro weighs less than the SS?

I figure as big as it is and all the steel that it would weigh more.

Has it had weight reduction?

Did a quick Google search and the 71 is around 200 pounds lighter.

Crazy isn't it?

You'd think with all the plastic and light weight materials used, like aluminum engines, that the 71 would weigh more. :yes:

The 71 is a lot lighter now a lot of fiberglass a lot of wieght out a aluminum headed LS not to mention fuel cell no exhaust no heat and the 71 wieght was with a cast iron small block with cast heads and intake

71 probably weights about 2900#
