  2. 2012 Ford 6.7 diesel....junkI

Oh, I can't say the owners haven't contributed. HOWEVER, back when diesels pumped high sulfur fuel at <3,500 psi they lasted and lasted and lasted. Now they pump NON (ultra low) sulfur fuel at > 26,000. Less lubricity and 8 times the fuel pressure. Ford blames it on "fuel contamination". Go figure.
  3. For Sale: 1965 Mustang Fastback

I have loved this car since you built it. It needs to come to Kentucky...
  4. What are your ET goals this ear?

Hey, you want me to ship a gallon of my well water to you?
  5. What are your ET goals this ear?

Agreed and thanks. I expected that kind of response from this place given most already have a kid(s). We are both 36 so everything else can wait as far as I'm concerned. The car isn't off the table by any means but we have no idea how far we will have go down the rabbit hole yet. We have been told if we want more than one that we will have to consider freezing eggs. We're going to Paris/Nice/Monaco at the end of May and already kind of regretting booking the trip but we had no idea at the time. Trying not to turn this into a fertility thread

Traction control has been my sticky tires.
  8. 2012 Ford 6.7 diesel....junkI

Is it really a problem with the vehicle, or could owner maintenance played a factor in the issues?
  9. 2012 Ford 6.7 diesel....junkI

Bump for a 6.4 diesel that got the same high pressure pump failure/metal contamination of everything. The neat thing about the 6.4 is the cab really needs to come off to get the pipes/turbo/high pressure pump out. It's MUCH more of a headache than the 6.7. If you're thinking about buying a 6.4 or 6.7 Ford...you're actually not. (Thinking, that is.)
  10. 2010 Camaro SS

Do you mean the same sticky tires it's been needing for the last year? Don't rush into such trivial things. I say add more power. That should offset the lack of traction. Once you get into the 1500rwhp area it'll finally hook those Skaterbacks.

Tool sets: If you want to work on cars and have NO tools, what's a good starter set?
  13. What are your ET goals this ear?

Hate to say it, especially on an Automotive forum but if you NEED to do so, you can always buy another. This step in yalls life is more important and deserves your attention. Best of luck!!!!! Matt

Everything. I should probably just unload it. Wife and I are just starting the beginning stages of fertility treatments and it's going to be

Car is pretty much done now aside from needing a trans re-tune for that triple disc converter. He thinks the Holley oil thermostat was keep the trans hotter than need be and the 6L80 / 6L90 already had an internal thermostat according to his trans builder guy, so he is removing it from the trans coolant system. That added a couple days to the wait because he had to order more fittings to connect the lines back together where that external thermostat was. He said with that new one piece DS having less rubber for NVH and the trans not slipping and flaring like it was, that it'll likely pick up some rwhp. So when I get the re-tune on the trans, We'll see what the rwhp is at again. Oh, and of course he test drove it and it's useless on the street. It needs some sticky tires!

It MIGHT be possible to swap only the tail housing to allow an existing mount to be used AND still use your custom driveshaft. What are other 90 swappers doing?
  21. 2020 GT500

Thats worth half the 2020's MSRP I guess I should have said I wont afford one. I love the way mine looks and have always dreamed of having one. I dont have the same feelings for the 2020. Then again ever since seeing Brodie's GT350R back in the day Ive kinda had a soft spot for them so maybe this new car will be the same? Only time will tell! Never imagined Ide be in this car at this point in my life either so I will withold judgement on what the future holds! Matt
  22. 2010 Camaro SS

I have no clue if that section is interchangeable. I do know I already spent $1000.00 on a driveshaft to fit this setup, so it's just cheaper to fab the mount at this point than change all that stuff and be stuck with a $1,000.00 custom driveshaft that I probably couldn't get rid of since a swap like this is pretty rare.

  24. 2010 Camaro SS

Tail shaft or driveshaft? The suggestion was to replace the CTSV Tail/output shaft with a Camaro one. If the trans are overall the same length, then it's likely the same output shaft and just the tailshaft housing would need ot be changed.
  25. 2010 Camaro SS

The Camaro SS 6L80 takes a longer shaft than the CTSV 6L90 with a stock 2010 Camaro SS differential.
  26. 2020 GT500

Is that a close cousin on the right?? lol
  27. 2020 GT500

Ill never afford one...shoot Ill never afford one of those wicked carbonfiber wheels, but they sure are amazing. Hope to see one in person one day and really get to look it over! Matt
  28. 2012 Ford 6.7 diesel....junkI

FWIW, the 6.4 Powerstroke is possibly a bigger turd than the 6.7. Looking at one with low fuel rail pressure. Ford diagnostics are lousy. How'd you like to spend about $8-10k when a fuel pump breaks?
  29. 2010 Camaro SS

How would that swap affect a driveshaft?
